When people talk about tech, they often mean electric devices that need a power source and usually have an on/off switch. However there are at least a couple of different kind of tech that can be just as (or even more) useful: design tech and materials tech. OXO products—especially their measuring cups and can opener—are good examples of design tech. And the items below use innovative materials to better solve problems.
This stuff is amazing for repairing small plumbing leaks. You can apply it even while the water is still leaking out. (There is a generic version out now for a lot cheaper, although I haven't tried it so I can't vouch for the quality.)
Great for getting stickers, tape residue, and other sticky/gooey residues off pretty much anything.
The conservationists we support work in pretty harsh and remote conditions. Getting a puncture in a tire is inevitable, and being able to repair it in the field is invaluable.
Windshield chip repair kit
Same as above, glass chips and cracks are just a fact of life for vehicles driven in such conditions.
